How do I select and order replacement filters for my
chambers?

Refer to the serial and model number on the bottom of your autoclavable chamber. Contact Biorep at sales@biorep.com with the serial and model number and we will determine the o-ring size and provide you with the part number. Examples of model numbers are 600-U-2 or 6U09D.

What is included with every Ricordi Chamber?

Each chamber includes:
One installed o-ring
One 533 µm wire mesh screen

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the wire mesh and the perforated plate?

Wire Mesh Perforated Plate
Higher open

Lower cost X
Square openings X
Round openings   X

What options do I have for measuring temperature inside the chamber?

1. Female Luer fitting for Biorep Thermoprobe (most popular).
2. Thermowell connector for BNC thermocouple.

How many times can I re-use the o-rings in an autoclavable chamber?

We recommend removing and disposing of the o-ring before autoclaving the chamber. Before re-using the chamber, insert a brand new o-ring each time. Using sharp tools to remove the o-ring can cause damage to it, which could compromise the seal.

How do I select and order replacement o-rings for my custom chamber?

Refer to the serial and model number on the bottom of your autoclavable chamber. Contact Biorep at sales@biorep.com with the serial and model number and we will determine the o-ring size and provide you with the part number. Examples of model numbers are 600-U-2 or 6U09D.

What is the recommended procedure to autoclave chambers
so that they last longer?

We recommend autoclaving the chamber lid and base in separate pouches. It is best not to leave the lid attached to the base during autoclaving. Leaving the screws tight during autoclaving might eventually cause cracking. The stainless steel and Ultem plastic expand at different rates, which can lead to high stresses and reduce the life of the parts.

How are disposable products sterilized and can they
be re-used?

Disposable products are exposed to gamma radiation or ethylene oxide and are designed for single-use only.

Re-using these products is not recommended.

Can heating and cooling coils be cleaned and reused?

We do not recommend re-using the stainless steel coils. The coils go through a rigorous cleaning and passivation process. Both ends are then capped to prevent contaminants from entering the coil. The coils are not sold sterile and should be sterilized (EtO or steam autoclave) before the first use. Attempting to clean the coils after use is not recommended.

What type of extended warranty or service contracts does
Biorep offer?

Biorep Technologies offers optional “Annual Service Agreements” for all of our machines, which extends the machines warranty past the initial year of coverage.
